Profile
  • Ability to lead research on China and its relation to Observa China 观中国’s Conversations
  • Emotional responsibility for the role. You will be expected to shape and decide the future of the position in dialogue with the rest of the team
  • Proactivity in suggesting and implementing your own ideas with a spirit of teamwork and collective building
  • Empathy, respect for diversity, and familiarity with nonviolent communication (NVC)
  • High ethical standards and a strong sense of commitment
  • Volunteer-based work, with no financial compensation or formal employment relationship
Responsibilities
  • Organisation of high-level events with experts and key figures
  • Production of studies, reports, guides, and policy recommendation documents
  • Collection, analysis, and organisation of datasets
  • Support with administrative tasks and participation in team meetings
  • Fulfilment of varied goals and objectives according to the needs of the Analysis Unit and Observa China 观中国
Requirements
  • Ongoing or completed PhD, or high-impact experience in fields such as journalism, government relations, politics, economics, civil society, or related areas
  • Native or advanced level in Portuguese
  • Native or advanced level in English
  • Intermediate or higher level in Chinese is a plus, but not essential
  • Advanced experience in research or political activities is an asset
