Ignacio Tornero is a lawyer, business consultant, and founder of East Consulting, a firm specializing in business and legal advisory services between Asia and Latin America. With more than 15 years of experience, he has advised Asian companies operating in Latin America and Latin American businesses expanding into Asia. Prior to founding East Consulting, he helped Chile’s largest law firm establish its presence in China. He is an adjunct professor at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, an affiliate professor at its Center for International Studies, and a member of its Center for Asian Studies. He was a research associate at the University of Oxford’s China, Law and Development project (2024–2025) and is currently an associate researcher at the Millennium Nucleus on the Impacts of China in Latin America and the Caribbean (ICLAC). His research focuses on Chinese investment and the evolving relationship between China and Latin America.
